Date: 30 July 2017
Venue: Hard Rock Stadium
Lionel Messi was among the scorers for FC Barcelona, as the Catalan giants recorded a 3-2 win over rivals Real Madrid in a thrilling encounter at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez were named in the attack, while Los Blancos were still without Cristiano Ronaldo.
Barca broke the deadlock after just three minutes as Messi broke into the box firing home via a deflection off Raphael Varane.
The lead was doubled five minutes later as Ivan Rakitic pounced on a loose ball and fired home from the edge of the box.
Los Blancos reduced the deficit in the 14th minute Mateo Kovacic found the top corner from the edge of the area leaving Jasper Cillessen with no chance.
The sides were level after 36 minutes when Kovacic turned provider to release Marco Asensio, who slotted into the bottom corner.
The score remained 2-2 as the sides entered the halftime break.
It didn't take long for Barca to restore their lead, as Gerard Pique turned home Neymar' free-kick with an impressive finish, 2-3.
Real pushed for a way back into the encounter and went close on the hour mark, but Cillessen produced two good saves to deny Marcelo and Isco in quick succession.
Zinedine Zidane then introduced new signings Dani Ceballos and Theo Hernandez after 75 minutes as they pushed for an equaliser.
Ceballos nearly made the perfect impact, but his close range effort sailed inches wide of the upright as Barca held on for the win.
