Not every transfer in football works out, and most top clubs have bought players in moves that raised questions among fans and critics alike.
Barca are a team that prides itself on producing world-class talent, but even they have had to dip into the transfer market to improve their squad from time to time, but not all of their signings seemed to make sense.
In the latest window, the Blaugrana made six signings, but three of them are arguably uncharacteristic of the team. Andre Gomes does not play with the same style as the typical midfielder at the Catalan club, while Paco Alcacer is likely to play second fiddle to Luis Suarez at the club.
The signing of goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen also caught many off guard, as he has been criticised in the past for the silly errors he makes from time to time.
Alex Song joined Barca in 2012, but did not feature much, while Brazilian forward Keirrison did not manage a single game for the club, despite being contracted to the Spanish giants for five years.

Ukrainian defender Dmytro Chygrynskiy's time at the Camp Nou under Pep Guardiola was also considered a failure, while Brazilian right back Douglas, who has just joined Sporting Gijon on loan from the Catalan club, has featured just eight times for the side after joining in 2014.
