According to Marca, Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi is at the top of Los Blancos' wish list, with the club apparently feeling he could be a more than adequate replacement for Karim Benzema, who has scored only two La Liga goals so far this season.
The Inter forward has already hit the back of net 15 times in 14 Serie A games this season, and will reportedly not be allowed to leave the Italian club for cheap.
Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez is also said to be on the club's wish list, with the Chilean's contract at the Gunners expiring at the end of the season.
Despite Arsene Wenger insisting that the London club will not sell the 28-year-old in January, Arsenal could be tempted to sell the former FC Barcelona man if Real offer a lot of money rather than let him go for free at the end of the campaign.
Marca believe that RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner is another striker the club could target, as is Krasnodar forward Fyodor Smolov.
The 27-year-old has been in great form for his Russian club, scoring nine goals in 14 matches across all competitions so far this season.
