Former FC Barcelona Player: This Star Can Be Iniesta's Successor
Former FC Barcelona player Emmanuel Petit has tipped a France international to be Andres Iniesta’s successor at the Camp Nou.
Italy’s Marco Verratti and Ivory Coast’s Jean Michael Seri have been touted as two players who could take over the mantle from the Spain international, but an ex-Arsenal star has somebody else in mind.
The 1998 FIFA World Cup winner believes Paris Saint-Germain's Adrien Rabiot could be the 33-year-old’s natural replacement should the Spaniard decide to leave the Catalan giants.
"He always takes the initiative, including before he moves. In many games, he reminds me of Iniesta although I know there will be people who will go against me," Petit said, as quoted by Sport.
"He has a similar way of playing because, before anything, they keep it very simple. He still has to work on being more consistent and trying to simplify his play still further."
Iniesta is currently in the final year of his deal at the Camp Nou, and reports suggest that he is considering the possibility of leaving the club.
