Real Madrid famously missed out on David De Gea, and Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has now revealed three other superstars the club failed to sign.
Real and Manchester United continue to blame each other for the goalkeeper's transfer fiasco.
However, Perez insisted it's not the end of the world for his club and that it was also not the first time they have missed out on their targets.
"We have missed out on players before – Franck Ribery and Patrick Vieira, for example," he said, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.
Vieira was part of Arsenal's Invincibles before joining Juventus, while Franck Ribery has become a massive success at Bayern Munich.
In addition to the two Frenchmen, Real also failed to sign Neymar, who instead joined their eternal rivals FC Barcelona.
"He's a magnificent player. We would have like to have signed him under conditions that didn't change the eco-system of the club," Perez has stated previously.
Neymar joined Barcelona for €86.2 million, but the mechanics of that transfer cost former Catalan president Sandro Rossell his role at the club.
