FC Barcelona To Sign Colombian Starlet After 2018 FIFA World Cup?
FC Barcelona will reportedly complete the signing of a Colombian starlet after the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
According to Spanish publication Sport, the Blaugrana have agreed a deal with Palmeiras for central defender Yerry Mina.
The 22-year-old was expected to join the Camp Nou side in January, but his Brazilian team has now requested that he stay with them until the World Cup.
Mina is considered by many to be one of the best young defenders in South America, and has been linked with a move to the Catalan giants for some time now.
It has been claimed that Barca general manager Pep Segura has met with his Palmeiras counterpart Alexandre Mattos in Barcelona and a deal has apparently been finalised.
The Colombian will be expected to replace either Gerard Pique or Javier Mascherano, who are both in their thirties, in the coming years.
The young centre back has made six appearances for Colombia's senior national team so far.
