According to Transfermarkt, Brazil superstar Neymar is the club's most expensive striker they have ever purchased. The Brazil captain was bought from Santos and cost the club €88.2 million (R1.5 billion).
In second place is former Liverpool star Luis Suarez, who has proved to be a great buy for the club and cost them €81 million (R1.4 billion) in 2014.
Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the Spanish giants' third most expensive striker, having cost them €69.5 million from Inter Milan.
Fourth place is a tie between Marc Overmars and David Villa. The pair were each bought for €40 million (R700 million) and spent four and three years, respectively, at the Camp Nou.
Sixth place goes to former Argentina striker Javier Saviola. Many expected big things from him, but sadly he never lived up to his price tag, which was €35 million (R612 million).
Samuel Eto'o is the only African in this list and cost the Catalan club quite a penny when he joined from Mallorca. The signing was considered a surprise at the time, especially as the fee paid was €27 million (R472 million).
In eighth place is Alexis Sanchez, the Chilean who was bought from Serie A side Udinese and cost the Blaugrana €26 million (R455 million).
Ninth place is occupied by former Arsenal captain Thierry Henry. The Frenchman had a successful career in Spain and was bought for €24 million (R420 million).
