Bayern Munich Star Linked With Shock FC Barcelona Return
A Bayern Munich midfielder has been linked with a shock return to his former club, FC Barcelona.
Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara has endured a difficult time of late in Germany due to injury, with a return date set for the end of January.
According to Mundo Deportivo, there has been contact between the player's representatives and his former employers, although whether or not a move in January is likely remains to be seen.
Thiago is said to be unsettled under current Bavarians manager Jupp Heynckes, under whom he has found himself on the bench more often than not.
The 26-year-old is said to be considering a move back to Barca, whose youth system he came through, although his exit from the Camp Nou was far from pretty.
It has been claimed that the player has, however, held discussions with Barca board member Robert Fernandez, who is believed to have met him in France and Spain in recent months.
It is also believed that since becoming a father, Thiago wonders if raising his child in Barcelona might be a better idea than doing so in Munich as he still has plenty of family and friends in Spain.
On the footballing front, Thiago has played just 15 times for Bayern this season, scoring three goals.
