FC Barcelona superstar Gerard Pique has compared former manager Pep Guardiola to legendary Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Spaniard, who played under both tacticians, considers the pair to be among the best coaches to have graced the beautiful game, even though they approached their jobs in different ways.
"When I was at Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson was already 20 years a coach, so he took the position of the coach in a different style," Pique told former United teammate Rio Ferdinand in an interview with BT Sport.
"Guardiola was young and he was really intense, every day.
"When I was at United, I remember Queiroz as the man who did the training. Sir Alex was more outside, controlling everything."
"Like the godfather," Ferdinand added.
"Exactly," Pique continued.
"Both of them, you can see their careers – they are both fantastic."
The Spain international, who won the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League under Ferguson, left the Old Trafford club for the Blaugrana in 2008.
