Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has backed the club’s new players, Willian and Samuel Eto’o, to take the club to a higher level.
Both players were instrumental in Chelsea’s weekend win over Norwich.
The Blues were labouring at 1-1 against the Canaries until Willian and Eto’o accompanied last season’s breath of fresh Blue air, Eden Hazard, onto the pitch.
Together they swung the game in Chelsea’s direction and Willian scored his first Premier League goal with a sumptuous finish.
Speaking to fifa.com, Ivanovic says that Willian’s goal was surely a sign of things to come.
"Willian showed he can improve and he can impress all the guys more, and we expect from him a lot," said.
"His goal is very important for him for confidence and for motivation."
Meanwhile, Eto’o may appear to be a shadow of his former self at the moment but there were signs of the lethal old Indomitable Lion at Carrow Road, and Ivanovic has complimented his “quality”.
"Eto'o is a guy who is still new in our team, in our squad, and we have tried to help him to settle as quickly as possible," he said.
"Both guys add fantastic quality."
