Despite constant rumours linking the likes of Dimitar Berbatov to Arsenal in a January transfer move, the Gunners manage Arsene Wenger says they have not contacted anyone as of yet.
Wenger has openly stated that the club are yet to look at any possible transfers in January and have not contacted any player regarding a move.
“Dimitar Berbatov is a not a name we have considered, at the moment,” said Wenger.
“I don't want to go into speculation on any specific names as that would not help and would be disrespectful to the club where they are playing at the moment.
“We are just considering our options and I must confess they are quite restricted.
“We have not even been out in the transfer market, we have not contacted anybody.
“We are just analysing our own situation and, of course, being very cautious until we are well informed about [Nicklas] Bendtner and [Yaya] Sanogo, who is back in training now. We will make a decision after that.”
The rumours of a possible move for Berbatov came about after injuries in the striking department to Bendtner and Olivier Giroud.
Wenger, though, appears confident in his team which currently tops the English Premier League table.
Arsenal, however, are next in action in an FA Cup tie against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
