Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has given an update on his side’s transfer activities, but couldn't provide Gunners fans with any positive news.
Wenger has been linked with a number of players as he hunts for attacking reinforcements before the transfer market closes, and his side’s fixtures are heating up.
Juventus striker, Mirko Vucinic and Schalke attacking midfielder, Julian Draxler, are likeliest to arrive at the Emirates Stadium, but Wenger admitted Arsenal are not close to signing anyone.
“Are we active? Yes,” Wenger told Arsenal’s website.
“Are we close to sign anybody? No.
“There's not long now that's true. First, the situation was going like always in a transfer market - week by week.
“In the last two weeks it goes day by day, now it goes hour by hour.”
Wenger, however, gave Arsenal fans a little hope by saying: “in any hour anything can happen or change.”
The Arsenal manager, also gave a new injury update ahead of the Gunners home game against Crystal Palace.
“We have good news (on Wilshere). For Sunday he will be short but he has a chance to be available for the week after at Liverpool,” Wenger continued.
“Ramsey will be out for longer because he had a setback and it doesn’t look too good. It is matter of some weeks for him.”
“Everybody else should be available. We could have Rosicky back again for Sunday. He had problems after surgery on his nose. So we lose Flamini but we gain Rosicky.”
Can Wenger again ensure a massive deadline day signing or will Arsenal fans be left frustrated? Have your say in the comment section below.
