Keyna star Victor Wanyama is hedging his bets, and has rejected the chance to move to Southampton from Glasgow Celtic.
21-year-old Harambee Star Wanyama is Celtic’s most sought-after player, after two seasons of devastating defensive midfield play.
He is reportedly flitting across the transfer radars of a host of English Premier League teams, including Stoke, Cardiff and Liverpool.
The Hoops have agreed a deal with Saints over Wanyama’s transfer, but he has not accepted what the port city club has to offer him personally.
Wanyama has explained that he rejected Southampton’s initial salvo, and is now prepared to listen to offers from other clubs.
"While the bid was okay for Celtic, the terms were not right for myself and my agent," he told the Southern Daily Echo.
"I am open to what offers are made, but I am relaxed and it's important that Celtic are happy too."
Wanyama proved he has what it takes to excel at the highest level during last season’s Uefa Champions League, with two eye-catching displays against Barcelona in particular. And he seems to think his talents merit a more glittering stage than the one St Mary’s has to offer.
