David Villa left hospital on Tuesday evening, after undergoing treatment for kidney stones.
The 31-year-old Spanish international striker will now hope to recover in time for Barcelona’s weekend La Liga clash with Granada.
In a statement on their official website, Barca confirmed that Villa had left the hospital, and is in contention to play at the weekend.
"His progress will determine whether he is available for the next match against Granada," Barca said.
Villa will be desperate to overcome his latest misfortune, as he struggles to cement his place in the Blaugrana’s starting line-up.
Since his return to football after his lengthy injury absence, Villa has found games hard to come by.
However, he does retain the touch that has made him the Spanish national team’s all-time top scorer.
Villa has scored five times in 15 league appearances, and five times in the Copa del Rey. And he will hope to open his account for the season in the Champions League, if he is fit enough to play against AC Milan next week.
