Villa Come Back To Beat City

Aston Villa beat Manchester City 3-2 this afternoon, after twice coming from behind.

City missed a number of chances, especially in the first-half, and Villa took full advantage in the second-half.

In the fourth minute James Milner could have given City the lead, but his shot went wide to the left.

Two minutes later Leandro Bacuna had a chance for Villa but his shot missed to the right.

In the tenth minute Eden Dzeko took a shot from the six yard line, but Brad Guzan was able to make the save.

Two minutes later Samir Nasri tried a shot from outside the box, but it was blocked.

In the 15th minute Dzeko had another chance from a Aleksandar Kolarov corner, but his header was too high.

In the 20th minute Matija Nastasic tried from a Milner corner, but his headed attempt flew wide to the left.

Karim El Ahmadi had a chance for Villa in the 24th minute, but his shot from outside of the box went wide.

In the 26th minute Dzeko tried a long range effort but his shot went wide and high, as the game remained goalless.

City could have taken the lead in the 29th minute, but Dzeko chose to lay the ball across the goal, rather than shoot, and it was cleared as far as Kolarov, who shot wide.

Bacuna had another chance for Villa in the 32nd minute but his long range effort was never on target and flew high and wide to the left.

Ciaran Clark cleared the ball off the line in the 40th minute from a Yaya Touré attempt, after a dangerous City corner.

Touré came close in the 44th minute but his shot from just outside the box was deflected and just missed the goal.

And from the resulting corner, a clearing header fell straight at Touré's feet and he put the ball home to give City the lead, and at half-time it remained 1-0.

El Ahmadi equalized for Villa in the 52nd minute, as he ran onto a through ball by Bacuna and scored in the bottom left corner.

But City regained the lead just five minutes later, as Dzeko got his head to the ball to score, from another City corner, to make it 2-1.

Dzeko had another chance for City in the 61st minute but his header from a Nasri cross, went high.

Ron Vlaar had a chance for Aston Villa in the 69th minute, but his shot was saved by Joe Hart.

In the 74th minute, Andreas Weimann was fouled by Nastasic and Bacuna scored from the resulting free kick to make it 2-2.

Two minutes later Villa went into the lead as Weimann scored from outside the box with a good left-footed shot.

Stevan Jovetic had two late chances for City, but his first attempt in the 83rd minute was blocked, and his second was saved by Guzan.

Kolarov had one last chance to equalize for Manchester City in the dying minutes of stoppage time, but his shot went high and wide.
