The German Bundesliga side, VFB Stuttgart, are currently on their way to Cape Town for a ten-day training camp in South Africa.
The club has told the Siya crew that a first part of their squad will arrive at 3:30 p.m. today and the second German group will arrive at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
For the duration of their training camp until 16 January 2014, the team will stay at the West Inn Hotel in Cape Town. The club has confirmed to host a series of open practice sessions, a few test matches as well as press round tables.
The team has announced they will play PEC Zwolle, who arrived in Stellenbosch yesterday, on January 11 as well as SuperSport United on January 9 and Ajax Cape Town on January 14.
Stuttgart will use their time in Mzansi to prepare for a better second half of the season after they finished the first round of the German Bundesliga in 10th position.
“During our stay in Cape Town we hope to maximize the team’s form for the upcoming season, with all the scheduled friendly games we should be able to reach the set objectives” said VFB Stuttgart’s Head Coach Thomas Schneider.
The club will host a press conference on Wednesday to confirm all dates, venues and times for their training camp in Cape Town, and the Siya Crew will keep you updated on all information around this exciting visit of a top European side.
Meanwhile, Dutch Eredivisie club, PEC Zwolle, have already arrived in Stellenbosch early on Sunday morning.
The team around Bafana Bafana's Kamohelo Mokotjo stays at the Stellenbosch Academy of Sport (SAS) and will play their first test match against Ajax Cape Town in Stellenbosch tomorrow at 20:00 p.m.
