David Moyes revealed that the Red Devils are in no rush to sign a new deal with their on-form striker Wayne Rooney.
Rooney scored twice in Manchester United’s 2:2 draw with Tottenham on Sunday, but his manager says he doesn’t really know when it’s time talk the strikers contract.
“I think we are fine. We are just moving on from the summer. It will be done in good course. The appropriate people will talk when the time is right.”
The English international had an impressive start into season with 12 goals and 10 assists in his first 21 games (all competitions) of the season.
Rooney was reportedly looking for a way out of Old Trafford and linked with a move to Chelsea, but still has 18 months left on his current contract.
The two goals which Rooney scored against Tottenham upped his total Premiere League tally to 164, placing him fifth on the all-time scoring list.
The striker himself is happy with his current run of form.
“I’m just trying to do my job and help us be successful. We are on a good run but need to try and turn some draws into wins.”
The next chance to do so comes Wednesday when on-form Everton and their new manager Martinez will visit the Old Trafford.
