UEFA Europa League Round-Up

Dinamo Tbilisi 0-5 Tottenham Hotspur: Andros Townsend powered Tottenham Hotspur to a 5-0 win away to Dinamo Tbilsi as they put one foot in the group stages of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday. Gareth Bale was missing for the Premier League side as reports claim he is moving closer to a move to Madrid. Townsend stepped up to the plate though, netting the opening goal before setting up Roberto Soldado and Paulinho. Danny Rose buried his first goal since his 2010 wonderstrike against Arsenal while Soldado completed a brace as Spurs romped to a massive win away from home.

Swansea City 5-1 Petrolul Ploiesti: Swansea followed in the footsteps of their fellow English Premier League side with a thumping home win. Wayne Routledge buried a double while Michu and Pozuelo were also on target. Pecanha put the ball in his own net to make it 5-0 but Gheorghe Grozav tucked away a late consolation goal for the visitors.

Jablonec 1-2 Real Betis: The Spaniards left with a slight advantage after a hard-fought win. Jorge Molina opened the scoring in the 21st minute before Jan Kopic drew level. The visitors refused to give in though and Cedric struck with four minutes to go to give them the edge in the tie.

Rijeka 2-1 Stuttgart: Leon Benko and Zoran Kvrzic boosted the hopes of the home side with two late goals but Vedad Ibisevic struck in the 89th minute to keep Stuttgart in with a chance.

Grasshoppers 1-2 Fiorentina: The Italians will fancy their chances of progressing after a hard-fought away win. Juan Cuadrado and Mario Gomez were on target while Ngamukol struck for the home side after the break.

Udinese 1-3 Liberec: The Serie A side saw their hopes of reaching the group stages take a blow when they went down 3-1 at home. Serhiy Rybalka, John Delarge and Ondrej Kusnir were all on target for the visitors while Udinese only managed a strike from Gabriel Silva.

Sevilla 4-1 Slask Wroclaw: Marko Marin continued his stunning form on his loan spell from Chelsea as he netted a brace while Kevin Gameiro and Ivan Rakitic were also on target. Marco Paixao had initially given the visitors an early lead but spent most of the second period with only 10 men after Carlos Paraiba was sent off.
