Turkish giants Besiktas are almost ready to make their move for Emmanuel Adebayor.
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly battling hard to sign Roberto Soldado from Valencia, suggesting that they no longer see Togo international Adebayor as the man to lead their line.
Besiktas are currently embroiled in a match-fixing scandal, which has seen them banned from participating in this season’s Europa League, and has impacted on their transfer agenda.
But the club has appealed their ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and are confident that they will be allowed to compete in Europe this season.
And if that is the case, they say nothing will stand in their way of signing Adebayor from Tottenham.
"We are interested in Adebayor, the transfer could still go ahead," the Turkish club’s president Fikret Orman said in the Daily Mirror.
"The deal breaker for Adebayor was whether we would play in Europe this season, as soon as we are cleared I will travel to London and complete the deal."
