Real Madrid’s new German midfielder, Toni Kroos, has expressed his delight at making his home debut for the Los Blancos.
Kroos, who signed for Madrid for a fee of approximately €30 million, was a key figure in his new team’s UEFA Supercup victory over Sevilla last week and also played well against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday evening in what was his first match at the Santiago Bernabeau.
“My first match for Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeau. I received a warm welcome and will do my best for Real and all of you Madridistas!” Kroos stated on his Facebook account.
He went on to describe the 1-1 draw against Atletico as a “wonderful experience”.
The 24-year-old midfielder joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich, with whom he won a German treble in 2012 and he will be keen on helping his new team to a mammoth six trophies in the 2014/15 season, after already securing the first title in his official debut for the club in Cardiff.
Kroos arrived at Madrid as a World Cup champion with Germany, for whom he played a key role in this summer’s tournament in Brazil.
