Paul Scholes was left fuming (and not without egg on his face) after thieves stole his top-of-the-range Chevrolet 4x4.
The Manchester United legend had left the car open on his driveway at his Oldham home.
He had also left the keys in the ignition. With the engine running.
Scholes was trying to defrost the windscreen while he waited inside his house.
When he returned to drive away from home, his Chevy Captiva Estate was gone.
A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Police said: "Police are investigating after a car was stolen while the owner was defrosting the vehicle.
“The grey Chevrolet Estate was stolen from the drive of a house in the Greenfield area of Oldham between 7.45am and 8am on Monday 28 January 2013. Inquiries to locate the car are ongoing."
The thieves had better hope Scholes does not catch them driving his prized vehicle around the streets of Manchester, as the combative ginger midfielder will probably come screaming in at them for wild, two-footed tackle!
