PSG skipper Thiago Silva has rejected reports that he is on the verge of an exit from the French champions.
Brazilian international defender Silva has been linked with a move to Spanish champions Barcelona.
The assertion is that he only moved to the Parc des Princes from AC Milan after being convinced to work with Carlo Ancelotti again.
The Italian had managed Silva at AC Milan, and the duo have a good working relationship.
Now that Ancelotti’s PSG future is up the air, the rumours of a possible departure for Silva have resurfaced.
Silva has cannily left the door slightly ajar by refusing to rule out a move completely, but he says that for now at least, there is no truth in the speculation that he could leave PSG anytime soon.
"I am only concerned about my immediate future, which is the Confederations Cup," Silva told L'Equipe, when pushed on the speculation linking him to Barca, who are known to be hunting for a world class central defender.
"About a transfer? I am calm; I'm leaving that to one side so far.
"I am happy at PSG. Yes, I came to PSG because of the presence of [director of football] Leonardo and Carlo Ancelotti, but that doesn't mean I would leave [if they did]."
Would signing Silva mend Barca’s defensive woes?
