Players who line up in their teams' forward line are often seen as the real superstars of a side because they are entrusted with scoring the goals required to win games. FourFourTwo recently compiled a list of players they believe are the 10 best forwards playing the game today and at the top is FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi, with the publication describing the Argentine as the "world's best passer, dribbler, creator and finisher".
In second and third place are two Paris Saint-Germain star – France's teenage sensation Kylian Mabappe and Brazil captain Neymar complete the top three and it is difficult to argue their inclusion. They're both great dribblers of the ball and are lethal in front of goal for both club and country.
Atletico Madrid frontman Antoine Griezmann is the second LaLiga star in the top five. The Frenchman is a streetwise footballer who creates chances and finishes off moves, while in fifth place is Chelsea's Eden Hazard, who has often been linked with a move to LaLiga.
Notable exclusions from this top 10 are Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez, among others, whom FFT consider to be out-and-out strikers, for which they have compiled a separate list. To see FFT's complete list of the world's 10 best forwards, click through the gallery above!
