The Argentine media suggests Carlos Tevez needs a boxer’s regimen ahead of his first season as a Juventus player.
The former Manchester City striker is six kilograms overweight apparently, and needs to sweat it out before his weigh-in in Turin.
Juventus reportedly paid £10 million in a canny piece of transfer business for Carlitos, who at his best is a prolific scorer, defender’s nightmare and hustling team-mate’s pleasure to work with.
But at his worse he is a sulking trouble-maker with the propensity to balloon, and Juve have apparently told him to shape up by the time the team jets off on its pre-season tour at the end of July.
Juve manager Antonio Conte is a notoriously hard task master, and is still incredibly fit himself.
And according to Clarin, he even admonished Tevez for being overweight during his medical last month, and warned the striker to show up svelte for the new season.
Conte wants the fittest squad in the Serie A, and it will be interesting to see if Tevez expands or contracts in the face of the challenge that awaits him.
