Chelsea captain, John Terry, believes his side's victory over Manchester City showed the tactical masterclass of his manager, Jose Mourinho.
Terry hailed his manager’s tactics and preparations as the foundation for Chelsea’s 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night.
When asked if the result told the story of a Mourinho masterclass, Terry said: "Very much so. This is where he comes into his own.
"We spent a couple of days working on their strengths and weaknesses.
"After the disappointment of dropping two points against West Ham, it was important to come here and bounce back.
"They've been phenomenal scoring goals and turning teams over.”
The loss was City’s first defeat at home this season, after an impressive 11 victories with 42 goals along the way, which made many believe Mourinho would got to Manchester to ‘park the bus’ and play for a draw.
Chelsea’s captain said his side showed a lot of character after struggling in the first 15 minutes and the win shows other teams that City can be beaten.
"In the first 15 minutes, they were very good and made it difficult. We showed a lot of character. Overall, we were very solid and happy for the win."
"It was important not just for us but for other teams, showing that they can be beaten.”
