A second half hat-trick from Cristian Tello, all three of his goals created by Lionel Messi, saw Barcelona come from a goal behind to win the first leg of their Copa Del Rey quarterfinal match against Levante at the Ciudad de Valencia 4-1.
Barcelona certainly started the better of the two teams and created their first chance on goal in the fifth minute as Pedro drove inside off the right flank and curled a left footed shot which bounced off the inside of the post and away from danger.
In the 23rd minute Messi worked his magic as he played Adriano through on goal, but with just the keeper to beat he shot wide of the target.
On the half hour mark a lapse in concentration at the back cost Barcelona as a long ball into the box was initially fired goalwards by Barral before Nabil El Zhar turned home the rebound to give Levante a shock 1-0 lead heading into the half time break.
The second half saw Barcelona on the attack from the word go and they made their pressure tell in the 54th minute as Juanfran turned the ball into his own net, 1-1.
Six minutes later and Barcelona took the lead after Tello was put through on goal by Messi and he made no mistake with a clinical finish, 2-1.
Tello put the result beyond doubt in the 80th minute, again Messi slipping him through on goal with a pin-point pass and again Tello produced a cool finish, 3-1.
Tello completed his hat-trick six minutes later with a carbon copy of his first and second goal – Messi played him in behind the Levante defence and again he finished with aplomb to wrap up the match, 4-1,
