Sunday La Liga Wrap

It was a tight Sunday in the Spanish La Liga as six goals were scored across four games as Rayo Vallecano, Osasuna, Real Madrid and Levante all won by a single goal.

Getafe and Rayo Vallecano got the day’s action underway in a tightly contested affair that saw a single goal from Alberto Bueno in the 29th minute handed his side the win.

The three points for Rayo Vallecano sees them up to 16 points on the league table, but still second from bottom and in a relegation dog fight, two points adrift of the safety of 17th position.

Propping up the bottom of the La Liga table is Real Betis who suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Osasuna.

A Roberto Torres goal and an own goal from Jordi saw Osasuna claim the three points which saw them up to 13th on the table.

Real Madrid squeezed out a 1-0 win over Espanyol thanks to a solo 55th minute goal from Pepe which saw them up to 47 points and in third place on the league table, three adrift of second placed Atlético de Madrid and leaders Barcelona.

For Espanyol, they dropped to 12th on the table.

In the last game of the day a single goal from David Barral handed Levante a much needed 1-0 win over Malaga.

The result takes Levante up to tenth place on the La Liga table while Malaga dropped to 14th place.
