It was an exciting Sunday in the Spanish La Liga as 15 goals were scored across four games, but only Sevilla and Barcelona were able to register wins while the likes of Atletico Madrid and Villarreal dropped points.
The early game of the day saw goals from Fderico Fazio, Vitolo and Carlos Bacca earn Sevilla a convincing 3-1 win over Espanyol.
The result saw Sevilla move above Espanyol into 11th place with 16 points while the latter dropped to 12th place.
Valencia and Real Valladolid played to an entertaining 2-2 draw as they shared the spoils. Valencia had to come from behind twice as Javi Guerra and Garcia gave Valladolid the lead on two spate occasions, but goals from Dorlan Pabon and Sofiane Feghouli pegged them back.
The point sees Valencia up to ninth on the table with 17 points while Valladolid moved out of the relegation zone into 16th place.
Atletico Madrid dropped more points on the league leaders as they drew 1-1 with Villarreal. In a bizarre game both goals came from the wrong boots as Juanfran and Mario Gaspar both found the back of their own nets in the stalemate.
The result sees Atletico Madrid continue to occupy second spot with 34 points while Villarreal sit in fourth place on 24 points.
The last game of the day saw Cesc Fabregas score a brace as Barcelona ran out 4-1 winners over Real Betis.
The result sees them go three points clear at the top of the table on 37 points while Betis sit at the foot of the table on nine points.
