Suarez Slays Norwich

Liverpool beat Norwich City 5-1 at Anfield on Wednesday night in the English Premier League, with four of Liverpool's goals coming from Luis Suarez.

Raheem Sterling scored the other while Norwich's goal was scored by Bradley Johnson.

Suarez's hat-trick was his third against Norwich, which is a new Premier League record, as he became the first player in the league's history to score three hat-tricks against the same opponent.

In the 11th minute Wes Hoolahan had a chance for Norwich, but his attempt from outside the box was saved by Simon Mignolet.

In the 14th minute Jordan Henderson tried from the edge of the area, but his shot went across the goal and wide.

But seconds later Luis Suarez scored an incredible goal to give Liverpool the lead, as his first time-long range effort from forty two yards out, flew over goalkeeper John Ruddy and into the goal.

Suarez made it 2-0 in the 29th minute, as he pounced on the ball after Steven Gerrard got a touch on Phillippe Coutinho's corner, and blasted it in from close range.

In the 34th minute Nathan Redmond tried from a free kick, but his low effort was well saved by Mignolet.

Suarez got his hat-trick in the 35th minute, another great individual goal, to make it 3-0, his third hat-trick against Norwich, when he controlled the ball well and made a run through the middle before unleashing a shot into the top right corner.

In the 38th minute Gerrard tried from long range, but Ruddy got down to make the save.

Three minutes into the second half Sebastien Bassong had a chance for Norwich, but his headed attempt flew over the bar.

In the 52nd minute Gerrard went close to increasing the lead, but his shot was cleared off the line by Ryan Bennett.

In the 57th minute Joe Allen forced Ruddy into a great diving save, as Allen shot from outside the area, but Ruddy was able to dive and tip it over.

Suarez almost added another in the 63rd minute but Ruddy got down well to get a hand onto the Uruguayan striker's shot from the right.

In the 74th minute Suarez made it 4-0 as he stepped up at a free kick and curled in his and Liverpool's fourth goal of the night into the top left corner.

Four minutes later Suarez had another chance, but this time he mis-kicked his attempt and Ruddy was able to save.

In the 79th minute Suarez set up Gerrard, but his shot from just outside the area sailed wide to the left.

Norwich pulled one back in the 83rd minute when Bradley Johnson rose up well to head in Redmond's cross to make it 4-1.

Gerrard almost had Liverpools's fifth in the 88th minute but he hit the post, but the goal came seconds later as Suarez set up Raheem Sterling to score and make it 5-1 on the night.
