Manchester United will want keep their unbeaten streak alive as they welcome high-flying Southampton at Old Trafford today.
The game comes just five weeks after the reverse fixture, in which Manchester United won 2-1 at St Mary’s in December.
The Red Devils have won their last five home league matches, scoring 12 goals along the way, with the last win being a 3-1 beating of Newcastle United.
Southampton come into this game full of confidence as the saw off Arsenal 2-0 at St Mary’s on New Year’s Day. The Saints' last away victory was at Selhurst Park on Boxing Day against Crystal Palace in a 3-1 victory.
Louis Van Gaal’s men appear to hold all the cards in Sunday’s fixture, with United scoring more than double the goals that Southampton have and have conceded one goal fewer.
Tottenham and Arsenal are also breathing down Southampton’s neck and a defeat at Old Trafford could see both North London clubs make up much needed ground in the fight for the Champions League spots.
In team news, Manchester United will be without wingbacks Ashley Young and Rafael, as well as centre-back Marcos Rojo, while Southampton will be without their African star Sadio Mane.
