Neither Mozambique nor Zimbabwe could manage a win in their final Group G 2014 World Cup qualifier on Sunday in Harare as the match finished 1-1 at the Rufaro Stadium.
The result means that neither were able to pick up a single win in their qualifying group as Mozambique finished third on three points while Zimbabwe picked up the wooden spoon on two points.
In a game with little bearing neither side could really salvage some pride as they played to a rather dull stalemate.
Both teams were unadventurous in attack and struggled to keep hold of the ball for sustained periods of play.
Instead, it was a game characterised by poor passing and bad decision making in the final third.
Zimbabwe, however, did manage to find the back of the net four minutes from the break courtesy a Masimba Mambare goal, 1-0.
The second 45 saw Mozambique find some rhythm and they managed to create the odd chance on goal.
The away side finally made their second half dominance count as they found the equaliser in the 69th minute through a Maninho goal, 1-1.
Neither side could find the winner as the game ended all square and the two exited the qualifying for the World Cup next year.
