Spurs Held By Norwich, Fulham Win

Tottenham were saved the embarrassment of a loss to lowly Norwich by a surging Gareth Bale as he pulled a goal back to make it 1-1 at Carrow Road.

The Canaries endured an FA Cup shock midweek as they were dumped out by non-league Luton and looked to make amends in their Premier League encounter with Spurs.

The hosts grabbed the opener as Wes Hoolahan netted a well worked goal and Sebastian Bassong almost put Norwich two ahead.

The Londoners looked toothless without Emmanuel Adebayor up front and recently returned Jermain Defoe looked slightly off-colour for most of the match.

It was up to the imperious Bale to net their equaliser which he did in fine style as he charged 60 yards before finishing expertly.

Tottenham remain in fourth place after the draw although Everton made up significant ground on the Londoners following their win this evening.

Norwich, meanwhile, drop into 14th place on the Premier League table

In other results Fulham saw off West Ham 3-1 at Craven Cottage to take all three points and move above their opponents in the league table.

A Dimitar Berbatov header, that looked like it may have been offside saw Fulham take the lead after 10 minutes.

Kevin Nolan netted an equaliser just after half-time but the Hammers went behind again almost instantly as Hugo Rodallega struck for Fulham.

The Cottagers sealed the win through Mladen Petric's shot from a tight angle to climb to 12th position in the standings, one above West Ham.
