Mario Mandzukic scored his first La Liga goal for Atletico Madrid as last season’s champions beat Eibar 2-1 at the .Estadio Vicente Calderón.
While Eibar may have seen more of the ball in the game, it was Atletico who always looked the more likely winner, having three times the shots at goal as the visitors.

Raul Jimemez went close in the 64th minute, but his headed attempt from Gabi’s cross went straight to Xavier Aranzamendi in goal.
Raul Garcia was also almost set up by another Gabi cross in the 83rd minute, but his header went high and wide.
Earlier in the day Athletic Club beat Levante 3-0, with goals from Aduriz, Iturraspe and Muniain, while Cordoba and Celta Vigo played out to a 1-1 draw.
