Currently in the relegation zone Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says boss and owner Vincent Tan has backed him to ensure English Premier League survival.
Sitting in 18th place on the table, only one point above the two last spots on the table, Solskjaer says that Tan has allowed him to go into the transfer market to strengthen his team.
“The owner is a winner and he wants all of his businesses to be successful. Now he trusts me to make the football decisions,” said Solskjaer.
“In the short term it is important that we stay in the Premier League, but then again he has reassured me that we are looking to strengthen if the right people are available.
“It is not like I have X amount of money. It is my job to find value for money and put it to him. He has been very open for discussion.”
Solskjaer added that he believes he has enough quality in the team to finish inside the top ten in the Premier League.
“It is a great football club and a top 10-place is the medium and long term aim, and who knows what can happen in the long, long term?" added Solskjaer.
Cardiff City are next in action on Saturday away to English Premier League title contenders Manchester City.
