A Hat-trick from Roberto Soldado and a solitary Lewis Holtby strike secured a 4-1 win for Tottenham Hotspur over Anzi Makhachala at White Hart Lane on Thursday night.
Roberto Soldado put the home side ahead in the 7th minute, the striker headed home a cross from Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Soldado doubled Spurs' lead in the 16th minute, after being played through by Erik Lamela, the striker slotted his effort into the bottom corner.
Just before halftime, Anzi grabbed a goal back through Ewerton Jose Almeida Santos, the midfielder slotting home from close range following a corner form Nikita Burmisstrov.
Lewis Holtby got Spurs' third in the 53rd minute, after being picked out by Andros Townsend, the German slotted his effort into the top corner with some fine footwork.
Spurs were awarded a penalty in the 69th minute after substitute Ryan Fredericks had been brought down, Soldado converted the penalty to complete his hat-trick.
Lamela nearly got his name on the scoresheet, the winger's header was tipped over Yevgeny Pomazan in the 73nd minute.
Holtby almost grabbed his second of the night in the 75th minute, but a fine save from Pomazan denied the midfielder.
Brad Friedel was called upon in the 80th minute, the keeper pulled off a fine double save to deny Burmistrov.
