Spain saw off Uruguay 3-1 in an entertaining international friendly match on Wednesday night.
Luis Suarez ran behind the Spanish defence just four minutes in but Carles Puyol showed good pace to get back and make a crucial tackle.
Sergio Busquets then rifled a shot at goal at the other end but the goalkeeper got down well before the opener came in fortunate circumstances. Cesc Fabregas hit a shot from long range which had some swerve but the goalkeeper fumbled it over the line.
Edinson Cavani was almost found with a superb ball over the top two minutes later while Puyol saw his delightful flicked goal ruled out by the offside flag.
Cavani wasted a glorious chance a minute later when he was played in brilliantly by Suarez but his first touch let him down and the chance was gone.
Uruguay got their goal a minute later though as Rodriguez was slipped in and he fired the ball past Victor Valdes.
Juan Mata almost restored Spain's lead nine minutes before the break but his shot was well saved by Muslera.
The Spaniards came out fired up for the second-half and just six minutes in Gerard Pique put a brilliant pass through to Pedro who arrowed a shot into the bottom corner.
Valdes had to make a fingertip save to deny Cavani five minutes later while David Villa curled a shot just wide on the hour mark.
The hosts would get some breathing space in the 74th minute though as Fabregas played a glorious pass to Pedro who slid home a confident finish.
The goal allowed Spain to relax on the ball in the final few minutes and they almost extended their lead in stoppage time but Villa saw his first strike saved before he sent another over the crossbar.
