Tottenham had a good 2-0 win over Norwich City today, thanks to goals in either half from Iceland international Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Tottenham started the game well, hoping to do better than in matches last season against Norwich, when they drew both league encounters 1-1, and Norwich beat Spurs in the League Cup.
Spurs dominated possession in the first-half, controlling the game, and didn't allow Norwich many opportunities.
Sigurdsson opened the scoring for Spurs in the 28th minute, his right foot shot his first goal of the season, with the assist come from a brilliant through ball from new signing Christian Eriksen, who was making his debut today.
Spurs' first goal from open play this season was enough to give them the lead at halftime.
Tottenham started the second-half where they left off and Sigurdsson added his second in the 48th minute, this time a left-footed shot from close-range, with the assist coming from a Paulinho cross.
They could have had a third but Andros Townsend attempt in the 66th minute was stopped by John Ruddy.
Spurs continued to control the game and their fans will have walked away happy with the win today. Apart from Sigurdsson, Spurs will be happy with the impressive Eriksen's debut, as well as a strong showing from Roberto Soldado.
