Barcelona have confirmed that goalkeeper Victor Valdes will see out his contract with the club.
That means that he will leave as a free agent next season, and the Spanish champions will need to buy an adequate replacement now or in the future.
Barca’s current second-choice ‘keeper is 37-year-old Pinto, who will remain at the club this season as well.
"Victor Valdes's representative has officially told (sports director Andoni) Zubizarreta that the player will complete his contract," Barca president Sandro Rosell told a news conference on Thursday evening.
"We are delighted he will be with us next year."
It is unclear whether or not Barca will sign a long-term replacement for Valdes during the current transfer window.
But Rosell does admit that some new players could make their way to the Camp Nou in the wake of star signing Neymar.
"I believe we will sign one or two more players," he said. "That also depends on whether players leave."
Meanwhile, Rosell has offered Barca’s official statement on the tax evasion charges levelled at their best and most important player, superstar Lionel Messi and his father.
He says that Barca full support La Pulga Atomica, and that they are confident the player will be absolved of any guilt by the Spanish tax authorities.
"Messi's family is quite calm about it," he said. "They have our support. I have no doubt about his innocence."
