Rooney: We Are Ready For The Challenge

Wayne Rooney scored his 150th goal in a Manchester United shirt in their come from behind 3-2 win over Hull City at the KC Stadium on Boxing Day, and the England international believes that the team ‘surprise a few people’ in the second-half of the season.

The current Premier League champions have suffered a torrid start under new manager David Moyes, losing 5 in the first 15 games under the former Everton manager but the Red Devils now find themselves just five points of the top four.

Rooney however feels that United are ready to finish off the season strongly and that they are now starting to show their true quality.

"I think we had some poor results at the start of the season but we are starting to show some real quality,” Rooney told Sky Sports after the Boxind Day result.

"In the last few weeks we are having a go. We are working hard, we are fighting for each other and we are ready for the challenge.”

"Hopefully, we can surprise a few people."

"The ball's bounced nicely for me and I've had a go.”

"It was a good goal for us at a good time of the game," the striker concluded.
