Cristiano Ronaldo plundered a hat-trick as Real Madrid demolished Getafe 4-0 on Sunday.
Ronaldo's treble took his La Liga tally to 21 for the season, and helped Los Blancos move within 12 points of leaders Barcelona.
Real dominated possession in the first half, but failed to make it count before the break at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Spanish champions, however, eventually broke through when Sergio Ramos bundled home a corner in the 53rd minute after goalkeeper Miguel Moya failed to collect the delivery.
Ronaldo doubled the lead in the 62nd minute with a low finish after being teed up by German playmaker Mesut Ozil on the edge of the area.
Three minutes later the Portugal captain struck again with a close-range diving header off a cross from Angel Di Maria.
Ronaldo then completed the rout in the 75th minute via the penalty spot after Luka Modric had been fouled in the area by Alberto Lopo.
Real are now unbeaten in 22 home games in the league.
