Ronaldo scored twice after Getafe took a shock lead through Lafita in the fifth minute at the Santiago Bernabéu to help Real Madrid to a 4-1 win over the Getafe.
After the shock opener Carlo Ancelotti's side were soon ahead thanks to strikes from Pepe and a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty turned the game on its head before the break.
Isco put the result beyond doubt midway through the second-half before Ronaldo rounded off the victory with a sublime back-heel flick from a Sami Khedira's cross.
The only setback from the this comfortable home win was the injury suffered by the world’s most expensive player Gareth Bale, who missed out on what would have been his home league debut during the warm-up with a suspected hamstring aggravation.
With Bale’s injury, Isco retained his starting line-up berth with Real making just three changes from the side that won 6-1 against Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.
Diego Lopez, Nacho and Asier Illarramendi all came in to the team in place of Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric.
Ancelotti's side could have added a few more goals when Benzema missed two more chances in the final 20 minutes as he headed crosses from Isco and Daniel Carvajal off target, while Ronaldo struck the post.
Things went from bad to worse for Getafe when four minutes from time last-man Michel was shown a red card for a foul on substitute Jese Rodriguez.
Real maintain their unbeaten start to the season even without the services of their record signing Bale.
