Francesco Totti handed AS Roma a 3-1 win over Hellas Verona on Sunday afternoon after Gervinho's brilliant finish in the 60th minute had put AS Roma into the lead. Adem Ljajic's opener had been cancelled out by Emil Hallfredson earlier.
Roma have closed the gap to six points behind pace setters Juventus.
In the seventh minute, right in the middle of the box, Roma striker Mattia Destro turned and got a shot off that Verona goalkeeper, Rafael, comfortably swallowed up in his hands.
In the 21st minute Adem Ljajic took a shot from the edge of the box, but the ball went over the bar.
Gervinho made a good move in the 34th minute that saw him slip a ball across to Destro inside the box, but the striker's shot went over the bar.
In the 45th minute Gervinho made a good run down the left flank, and produced a cross into the centre that found Ljajic, who made no mistake to put Roma ahead.
In the 45th minute Massimo Donati sliced a pass to Emil Hallfredsson, and the Icelandic midfielder found the bottom corner to make it 1-1.
Gervinho made a solo run into the box and found space to finish off his move with a curler from his right foot to put Roma back into the lead in the 60th minute.
Francesco Totti put the game beyond Verona with a goal in the 82nd minute, to give Roma the three points and snatch victory.
