Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have reportedly entered the race for a sought-after African star who is said to be wanted by Arsenal, FC Barcelona, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
Ivory Coast international Nicolas Pepe has been in devastating form for Ligue 1 outfit LOSC Lille this season, netting 17 goals and registering 10 assists in 28 league matches thus far.
As a result, the 23-year-old is said to be the subject of widespread interest from a number of top European clubs, with the Bavarian giants the latest team to monitor the winger's situation with keen interest.
According to Le 10 Sport, after Bayern's failure to land Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi after numerous bids in January, the German giants have turned their attention to Pepe as an alternative to the Englishman, and have already tabled an offer for the French club's prized asset.
With Lille's asking price for Pepe set at a minimum of €50 million
(R787 million), Bayern are reportedly facing stiff competition from the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona, PSG and United for the player's services.
Pepe is the joint-highest scoring African in Europe's top five leagues so far this season, along with Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.
