Liverpool goalkeeper, Pepe Reina, has poured cold water on the possibility of a move to Barcelona, and has suggested he hopes for a longer stay at Anfield.
The Spanish international shot stopper had been linked to a return to the Camp Nou, where he started his career, as speculation over the future of Victor Valdes mounted.
Barca number one Valdes will not be renewing his contract at the club, and as a result, the Spanish champions were linked to a pre-season move for Reina.
But Valdes subsequently announced that he will see out his contract at Barca, and Reina has since gone on record to say that his own future remains with Liverpool.
"I have my own contract with Liverpool for three more years," said Reina.
"Nothing has changed.
"If so, we want to make it bigger and my future is with Liverpool.
"Right now, about Barca, there are only rumours and only people talking about possibilities. There are no facts. I cannot talk further on that.
"Victor has said he will not move from Barcelona and wants to fulfil his contract, and that must be respected."
Reina suffered from bad form during the 2011-12 campaign, and started last season on a similar poor footing.
But his form improved greatly during the second half of last season, and Reds manager Brendan Rodgers does not especially want to lose him.
Having said that, Liverpool continue to be linked to Stoke and Sunderland ‘keepers Asmir Begovic and Simon Mignolet respectively, on the off-chance Reina leaves before the start of the next campaign.
