Redknapp Praises Everton Display

Queens Park Rangers’ manager Harry Redknapp was full of praise for Everton after his side were thumped 4-0 by the Toffees in a third Round FA Cup tie at Goodison Park on Saturday.

QPR were put to the sword by Everton thanks to a brace from Nikica Jelavic and goals from Ross Barkley and Seamus Coleman.

Following the game, Redknapp admitted his side were rubbish on the day and completely outplayed by a far superior team.

“It was a disappointing afternoon, we were well beaten today,” said Redknapp.

“We were beat by a far better team.

“I thought Everton were excellent.

“Even though they made lots of changes, they were strong all over and made life very difficult for us.

“They've got some real quality throughout their squad and it really showed today.

“We struggled to live with them at times.

“Their movement, their passing, their attacking play, it was top class.

“The lads learnt a lot today and so did I. Today was a benchmark for us. We want to get out of the Championship and be competing against sides like Everton every week next year.

“We didn't do ourselves justice today though and that's what hurts.

“There's a clear gulf in class between the two divisions and that showed, make no mistake about that.”
