Real's Ramos Keen On Disappointed Bale

Reports that Gareth Bale has already agreed to commit his future to Tottenham Hotspur may have been premature.

Earlier this week it was suggested that Bale would stay at White Hart Lane for at least one more season, after he was offered a £150 000 per week sweetener by Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy.

Spurs narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Champions League, but the sense at the Lane is that next season they will take the step up.

The North London club are desperate not to lose their box office attraction, who generates massive interest, but more importantly wins games seemingly on his own.

And so they will be quaking in their boots after Bale admitted his major disappointment at failing to secure Champions League football next season.

"It was great to sign off with a great goal in the last minute, but circumstances made it hard to celebrate," Bale said after picking up the Tottenham player of the season award.

"To play the way we have also but to miss out on our objective [Champions League qualification] is very disappointing."

"We have got the record points for the club in the Premier League. That would normally be enough to qualify for the Champions League, but it's not meant to be again. It's disappointing, but we will pick ourselves up again. We will just have to regroup and give it another go," he added.

For now it does seem that Bale is inclined to stay in London. But he knows he has ardent admirers in Spain, in the form of Champions League semi-finalists, Real Madrid.

And Los Blancos star, Sergio Ramos, will have increased the discomfort in the corridors of power at White Hart Lane, by extending an open invitation to the Welsh star.

"Gareth Bale is a Real Madrid-quality signing," Ramos said, according in the British media.

"He has had an exceptional season. He can punish any team in the world and has the footballing qualities we look for in Madrid.

"I am sure Madrid will not be the only team that want to sign him, but he is the right mould for us."
