Real Madrid winger, Angel di Maria, will reportedly fly in this lunchtime to undergo a medical ahead of his move to Manchester United.
According to Sky Sports, Di Maria will have his medical today ahead of his British transfer record £64 million move to the Red Devils.
The transfer fee agreed between the two clubs for the Argentine eclipses the £50m Chelsea paid Liverpool for Fernando Torres.
Meanwhile, former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, believes Di Maria will be a good fit for Van Gaal’s side.
“It’s good business,” he told Sky Sports.
“United have lost their negotiation strength but they just need to get the right players. This one is.
"He'll get pace into the game and get from box to box. He’s the right signing. You could argue they need other players in other areas but they definitely need a wide player.”
Following the arrivals of Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo, Di Maria will be Manchester United's fourth signing of the summer and take United's spending spread to around £137 million - more than they have spend in any transfer window before.
