Real Madrid have reportedly stepped up their interest in signing Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
Spanish newspaper AS claim Real wanted to sign the Uruguay international last year already and have now re-opened talks with his agent.
Suarez has been Liverpool's standout performer and tied Real’s Cristiano Ronaldo in the European Golden Boot race. His 31 Premier League goals helped Liverpool to qualify for the Champions League.
AS reports that Suarez has a price-tag of €60m (R 853 million) but Liverpool’s Champions League qualification could have raised it to the level of Gareth Bale.
Real are reportedly in contact with Suarez’ agent Pare Guardiola, brother of Pep, and would switch to Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, if Suarez was to stay at Anfield.
Aguero is reportedly a transfer target of Real president, Florentino Perez, for a while, as he came very close in buying him off neighbours Atletico Madrid three years ago.
