It was a dull night in England for South African’s Bongani Khumalo and Dean Furman, while Tokelo Rantie made his debut for AFC Bournemouth in the English Championship.
Khumalo played the full 90 minutes in Doncaster Rovers 2-1 loss to Watford on Tuesday night. Furman came on for 15 minutes in the second half, but was unable to affect the outcome of the game.
The loss was Doncaster’s second in three matches as they languish in 18th spot on the Division One table with a meagre five points from six games. Doncaster are only one point and three places adrift of the relegation zone at present and will be hoping for a win in their next league match against Nottingham Forrest on Saturday.
It was, however, a good night for Rantie who made his debut in Bournemouth’s 1-0 win over Barnsley.
Rantie came on as a second half substitute, playing 35 minutes and had a hand in Marc Pugh’s 78th minute winning goal.
The result sees Bournemouth up to seventh on the table and Rantie will be hoping to make his first start for the club on Saturday when they take on Middlesbrough in the league.
