Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey carried on his early season scoring form by finding the net in the away sides 2-1 victory over Marseille, taking his tally to six goals in his seven games played so far this season.
Theo Walcott gave Marseille keeper Steve Mandanda absolutely no chance with a sweetly struck volley in the 64th minute, after a goalless first half before Ramsey struck in the 84th minute following his brace in the league over the weekend.
The home team did manage to give their fans something to cheer about just before full-time, when Jordan Ayew converted a 90th minute penalty to half the deficit.
This was however too little too late as the French side created fewer chances than their English opponents and the Gunners looked the more comfortable of the two sides.
Arsene Wenger seems to have won over the fans who earlier this season were calling for his head, and record signing Mesut Ozil slotted seamlessly into the London team, looking worth every penny the Gunners had paid for him.
